YOUSEF’S STORY

Yousef, 45 years old, lives in Jerash Camp and supports a family of six. He does everything he can to provide them with a safe life despite very limited resources. His home was the only shelter that brought his family together and protected them from harsh circumstances—until everything changed in a single moment.

One day, while the family was inside the house, the wall opposite the home collapsed and large amounts of sand slid down, revealing the true extent of the danger. A large crack was discovered in the main structural wall of the house, making it at risk of collapsing at any moment and posing a direct threat to Yousef and his family’s lives.

Faced with this danger, Yousef had no choice but to evacuate the house to protect his family’s safety. He was forced to rent another home, beginning a new struggle with monthly rent that exceeds his financial capacity. Over time, his obligations piled up, and the burden became unbearable, especially as he remains responsible for meeting the needs of six family members.

Today, all Yousef dreams of is repairing his damaged home and building a retaining wall to protect it from collapse and restore safety, allowing him to return home and end the hardship of rent and constant worry. His dream is simple, yet it represents safety, stability, and a dignified life for his family.
