MUNA’S STORY
Muna, 54 years old, is a mother of five sons and daughters. After her separation, she became the sole provider for her family, carrying alone the responsibility of meeting her children’s needs under difficult living conditions. Despite the heavy burdens, Muna continues to do everything she can to support her university enrolled daughter, firmly believing that education is the true hope for improving the family’s situation and securing a more stable future.
For years, Muna has suffered from severe and chronic pain in her neck, shoulders, and lower back, in addition to numbness in her fingers to the point that she sometimes cannot feel the objects she holds in her hands. Her condition worsened over time as a result of a car accident she was involved in several years ago. After visiting Al-Khaldi Hospital and consulting an orthopedic doctor, clinical examinations, radiological imaging, and MRI scans revealed a second degree displacement at the fifth lumbar vertebra, along with multiple herniated discs in the lumbar spine.
Due to the intensity of her daily pain, which prevents her from living a normal life and fulfilling her responsibilities toward her children, Muna was referred to a rheumatologist. Further examinations showed severe muscle spasms, signs of knee joint degeneration, and a tear in the medial meniscus, adding to her physical and psychological suffering.
At this stage, Muna urgently needs physical therapy sessions to reduce her pain and improve her mobility. If no significant improvement occurs, she will later require joint injections, which would place an additional financial burden beyond her current means.
Despite the pain and exhaustion she endures, Muna remains determined to stand strong for her children, holding on to hope and believing that proper support will help her regain her ability to give and continue caring for her family with dignity.
