Mohammad's sole opportunity to continue living normally is to get a kidney transplant. The amount includes:

  - Dialysis session prior to surgery
  - The patient's kidney transplant process
  - The procedure of removing the donor's kidney (Mohammad’s mother)
  - Patient's accommodation in the hospital for a week (two days in CCU and five days on the regular room)
  - Accommodation for the kidney donor (Mohammad’s mother) for two days at the hospital
  - Medicines for one week for Mohammad

MOHAMMAD’S STORY

Mohammad is 13 years old; an extremely bright child who did very well in school. He was enrolled in the King Abdullah II School for Excellence, although he later apologized for dropping out that year due to his illness.

After two years of kidney dialysis and suffering (read his story below), doctors just added a central venous catheter (CVC) through his neck as a temporary solution. Therefore, a kidney transplant is urgent to avoid septicemia (blood poisoning) and save his life!

Mohammad's appearance started to change and sadness showed on his face; and he started to lose weight. Additionally, he no longer continued to grow and develop as any young teenager should. His parents had many questions, but they were unaware of the underlying causes, therefore they started their investigation by visiting doctors and getting Mohammad tested. However, it was discovered that Protein Plus 2 was present in the urine sample, which is a sign that the kidneys are not functioning properly.

While tests are still being performed, further symptoms have started to become more noticeable. As a result, Mohammad started throwing up every morning and complaining about pain in his bones. He complained of soreness in his right leg (specifically the thigh area) and was unable to move it one day while he was playing football with his friends. The joint that links the pelvic region to the thigh was found to have a fracture. Without Mohammad falling or complaining of thigh pain, this would not have happened. The doctor decided that Mohammad required an urgent operation after bringing him to the hospital. Following standard protocol, tests had to be performed before the surgery, and the findings revealed that renal/kidney function indicators were variable and extremely high, while calcium levels were at their lowest, which was the cause of the fracture. Additionally, Mohammad's blood's strength was 7 (this is below the average). As a result, the surgery on him had to be postponed for two days because it was impossible to complete. Within these two days, two dialysis sessions were performed to stabilize the renal/kidney indications. Also, the procedure to insert screws in the bone fracture was successfully completed. Afterwards, he started physical therapy sessions for a month until the bone mended and returned to normal. 

After the above incident in 2021, it was confirmed that young Mohammad had chronic kidney failure, and the treatment journey began with dialysis sessions three times a week ever since then (the past 2 years!), yet there was no noticeable improvement. Since the kidney failure is chronic, there is atrophy in both kidneys, and their work rate does not exceed 15%! A kidney transplant must be done in order to live a normal life!

His mother will be his donor, as based on the degree of compatibility test, the result was 4 out of 6, which is regarded as great! In order to determine the degree to which Muhammad's body will accept the kidney from his mother, an antibody test was also carried out on him and his mother, and thankfully the results of this test were positive.
