Case description

"I hope to live in a house that shelters me and my family from the cold of winter and the heat of summer, and where we can live an easier, smoother life. I wish for my daughter to return to school to complete her education without getting bullied or picked on by her classmates because she lives in a tent.” ~ Adeeb

AMOUNT NEEDED - JOD 589

Adeeb received a generous donation where someone rented a house for him and his family and renovated it to be a suitable, permanent home for him and his family of four.

However, due to the high costs of the renovation and repairs, the benefactor was unable to provide the house with basic necessities, so Adeeb needs our help in securing the following:

  • National Green kerosene heater for JOD 35
  • Gas heater from Al-Dawaima factory for JOD 120
  • 5 blankets for JOD 65 (JOD 13 per blanket)
  • Kitchen utensils for JOD 150
  • 2 gas cylinders for JOD 84
  • Gas cylinders refills for the next 3 months at a price of JOD 90, (estimating the rate of 4 cylinders per month – 12 for the whole period)
  • Delivery for all items to the house in Irbid is JOD 45

We would like to thank the Darwish Al-Khalili Sons Foundation for the discount they offered us to help Adeeb.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Adeeb is an elderly man who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. He lives in a Bedouin tent surrounded by bushes, in an area far from the city center. He faces difficulty in securing his daily needs and those of his family. He was never able to buy or rent a house when he was younger and ended up living in a tent till this day.

However, Adeeb’s lifelong dream has finally come true, and that is to live in a home that could shelter him and his family during the cold winter nights and hot summer days; offering them warmth, safety and a sense of stability.

Adeeb's daughter dropped out of school because she was bullied for living in a tent, but with your help, she will be able to go back to school and continue her education with more confidence.

Adeeb is no longer able to work due to his poor health and his old age, but he sometimes works for a daily wage taking care of livestock for someone who lives in the neighboring village just to be able to provide food for himself and his family.
