AREJ’S STORY 

Areej, 4 years old, began feeling pain in her ears two years ago, especially during the winter time. The pain has become a constant companion, repeatedly occurring only to bother her day and night. It affected her breathing, causing her lips to dry out, and led to loud snoring that disturbed those sleeping around her.

Antibiotics have ceased to be effective with their frequent use. The doctor diagnosed Areej with having a severe inflammation in her enlarged tonsils as well as nasal adenoids and turbinate hypertrophy resulting in significant nasal blockage and snoring. Areej’s body has also become frail due to her abstinence from eating due to the pain experienced during swallowing. The doctor recommended that surgery is urgently needed to prevent the situation from worsening and leading to more serious health problems for Areej in the future.
