AMIRA’S STORY

Amira, 44 years old, never imagined she would face life’s burdens alone after her husband traveled abroad in search of work to provide his family with a decent life. He left with hope in his heart and promised to return soon. But days turned into months, and he was unable to secure stable employment. Eventually, his circumstances became so complicated that he could no longer return home.

Since then, Amira has become both the mother and the father, responsible for supporting six children. Her eldest, 24, is struggling to find his path in life, while her youngest, only six years old, still needs warmth and security. Between food expenses, school requirements, and accumulating bills, Amira lives in constant worry, one she hides behind a reassuring smile for the sake of her children.

She has no stable source of income and relies mainly on help from relatives to cover basic needs such as food, clothing, and school supplies. With every new month, the challenge begins again: how to secure the minimum requirements for a dignified life and maintain her children’s emotional stability despite their father’s painful absence.

Despite the harsh circumstances, Amira has not given up. She continues striving to keep her home united and to instill patience and hope in her children, believing that relief may come at any moment. She seeks nothing more than an opportunity to stand firmly on her feet and support that eases the heavy burden she carries, so she can continue protecting her family and building a better future for her children.
