GHUZLAN’S STORY
Ghuzlan, 46 years old, lives in a village in Madaba Governorate. She found herself facing life alone after a long journey of patience and hardship. Since 2019, she has been accompanying her husband in a painful battle with cancer, moving between hospitals and medical appointments while trying to keep hope alive in the hearts of her four children. But in January 2026, her husband passed away after years of suffering, leaving behind a great void and heavy responsibility.
Today, Ghuzlan carries the responsibility of her family on her own. Her eldest son is 24 years old and tries to support his mother and siblings, while the youngest is only 14 and still at an age that requires stability and care. Between the pain of loss and the demands of daily life, Ghuzlan strives to keep her family united and provide at least a minimum sense of security for her children.
The family lives in a 120-square-meter house, but it lacks essential infrastructure. The home urgently needs a septic tank and proper sewage extensions. The current situation poses a health and environmental burden on the family, increasing their hardship amid their already difficult circumstances.
After years of enduring illness, Ghuzlan did not expect to begin a new phase filled with challenges. All she hopes for now is to provide her children with a safe and healthy home that eases their grief and gives them a more stable beginning. Ghaulan’s story is the story of a mother who has endured much and continues to fight for her children, needing a helping hand to restore some of the security she has lost.
