MERVAT’S STORY

Mervat, 42 years old, is a widow who lost her husband in 2024 after he suffered a severe brain hemorrhage. His sudden passing changed the family’s life dramatically and left her solely responsible for caring for their four children and managing their daily needs.

Her eldest son is 23 years old and the youngest is 21. Although they are young adults, their health conditions place an even heavier responsibility on their mother. The two eldest sons live with intellectual disabilities accompanied by recurring epileptic seizures, which require continuous care and medical follow-up.

Because of these health challenges, the family cannot rely on the children to provide income. As a result, Mervat faces significant difficulties in managing their lives and meeting their essential needs.

Despite the grief of losing her husband and the daily pressures she faces, Mervat strives to remain strong for the sake of her children, providing them with care and support to the best of her ability.

Mervat’s story reflects the patience of a mother who suddenly found herself carrying great responsibilities after loss, yet she continues to hold onto hope that her family’s situation will improve and that she will find the support needed to keep moving forward.
