Ahmad’s STORY
Ahmad, 16 years old, lives with his family of ten. Ahmad’s mother is a stay-at-home-mom, and his father doesn’t work due to his advanced age and health issues.
As a child, Ahmad used to watch his mother prepare and cook food, and this ignited his culinary passion as he started preparing snacks for his siblings. This love prompted him to enroll in Wadi Al-Seer Vocational Training College to develop and acquire practical skills in the field of cooking. His teacher at the college also acknowledges his talent and believes he could have a bright future as a sous chef.
Ahmad started the first semester at the beginning of September 2022. Studying in this college is free of charge and only requires a registration fee of JOD 40 and training equipment to use when starting the practical training that lasts for two months at the end of the second semester in one of the places selected by the college.
The period of study in Wadi Al-Seer Vocational Training College is a full year, starting from September 2022 and ending in September 2023 by obtaining a certificate accredited by UNRWA and the Ministry of Education, which is considered a strongly credible certificate that qualifies Ahmad to enter the labor market, as the college focuses on equipping its students with real-life skills and experiences related to labor markets in the Middle East region.
