HIBA'S STORY

Hiba is 33 years old. In 2021, Hiba lost her life partner after he underwent open-heart surgery. While the family hoped the operation would be the beginning of his recovery, he suffered complications involving fluid buildup in the lungs. His condition deteriorated, and he passed away, leaving behind a young wife and four children who desperately needed his presence.

Since that day, Hiba has become both a mother and a father to her children. She has taken on the responsibility of raising her four children, with the eldest now 12 years old and the youngest 9, facing life’s challenges alone while trying to provide for her family despite difficult living conditions.

Hiba relies on assistance from charitable organisations to meet her family’s needs, with a total monthly income of less than 200 JOD. This amount barely covers their basic necessities, including food, drinks, and bills, while many of the children’s needs and wishes remain unfulfilled because they are beyond her financial ability.

It is painful for Hiba to see her children dream of simple things, such as new clothes, better school supplies, or the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoy, yet she finds herself unable to provide them. Her greatest concern is ensuring their basic needs are met and maintaining their stability after losing their father.

Despite the hardship, Hiba has not lost her belief that kindness still exists and that there are people who can extend a helping hand to ease some of the heavy burdens she carries alone and give her children the opportunity to experience their childhood with dignity and hope.

Today, Hiba needs the support of generous donors to provide a more stable life for her children and meet some of their essential needs, which have become a burden beyond her limited means. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference in the life of a family that has lost its provider but continues to hold on to hope.
