ZEYAD’S STORY

Zeyad, 41 years old, is a father of five children, the eldest of whom is 16. His life came to a complete halt after being diagnosed with lung cancer that spread to other parts of his body. He used to work to provide for his family, but the harsh treatment forced him to stop working and commit to chemotherapy sessions, fighting the disease with all the strength he has left.

His wife stands by his side through every stage, but she is unable to work, as she carries the responsibility of caring for him and their children at the same time. With no breadwinner, the family now depends on an amount that does not exceed JOD200 every three months from a charitable organization, an amount that does not cover even a small part of their daily needs.

The family lives in a modest rented home in one of the villages of Jerash Governorate, which lacks basic electrical appliances that have become a distant dream under their difficult circumstances. Despite all this suffering, Ziyad continues to hold on to hope, not only for himself, but for his five children who await his recovery and the return of stability to their lives.
