YUSRA'S STORY
Yusra is 26 years old. Since birth, Yusra has lived with a journey of pain and challenges. She was born with congenital dislocation of both hip joints, a condition that affected her mobility from her earliest years.
At the age of 14, Yusra underwent surgery to have a joint replacement, hoping it would allow her to walk and live a normal life. However, over the years, complications began to appear again.
In 2017, Yusra lost her father, adding emotional and financial burdens to the difficulties she was already facing. Meanwhile, her health condition continued to worsen year after year. Today, she suffers from severe, constant pain that never leaves her. Even painkillers are no longer enough to relieve it, and many nights pass without her being able to sleep because of the intensity of the pain.
Yusra also suffers from persistent swelling in her left leg, and her mobility has become increasingly difficult due to the deterioration of the previously implanted joint. After visiting Al-Khalidi Hospital and undergoing the necessary examinations, doctors found that she has a medial dislocation of the joint within the pelvic area, along with a possible joint infection. This is a complex condition requiring surgical intervention.
Doctors confirmed that Yusra’s treatment requires a two-stage surgical procedure. The first stage involves removing the old artificial joint from the pelvis and inserting a temporary joint to ensure that any infection is completely eliminated. The second stage involves reconstructing the pelvic area, inserting a new artificial joint, and replacing the upper part of the thigh bone completely, allowing her to regain mobility and reduce the ongoing pain she has endured.
Despite everything she has been through, Yusra continues to hold on to hope that one day she will wake up without pain, walk comfortably, and live a normal life like other young women her age, free from the suffering that has accompanied her since childhood.
Today, Yusra needs the support of generous donors to undergo this complex surgery, which represents her only hope of ending years of pain and restoring her ability to move. With your support, she can begin a new chapter of her life filled with hope and healing.
