ALAA’S STORY

Alaa, 37 years old, lives with her family of six in extremely difficult health and living conditions. Her husband suffers from a permanent physical disability with a disability rate of 75%, which prevents him from working or providing a stable source of income for the family.

Alaa herself suffers from severe, chronic pain in her right shoulder as a result of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a condition affecting the central nervous system. Due to her medical condition, she underwent major surgery that included the removal of both breasts, the removal of two posterior ribs, and one anterior rib. She still requires regular medical follow-ups and continuous medication.

The rest of the family members also suffer from various health issues, each requiring ongoing medication and treatment, further increasing the daily burden in the absence of any stable income.

In addition to the serious health challenges, the family lives in an old, deteriorating house that lacks basic electrical necessities and requires minor repairs to make it safer and more suitable for living. The current condition of the house only adds to the family’s suffering and fails to provide even the minimum level of stability.

Today, Alaa’s family is living in an extremely dire situation, unable to secure basic necessities such as food, medicine, and safe housing. They are in urgent need of support to ease the weight of illness and poverty and to give them a chance to live with dignity and security.
