BATOUL’S STORY
Batoul, 22, first began her battle with alopecia in the eighth grade when she noticed her hair falling out, leaving noticeable patches on her scalp. She was shocked, wondering how it was possible for a girl her age to lose her beautiful hair, which had once cascaded all the way down her back. Before long, her eyelashes, eyebrows, and body hair began to thin out as well.
As a result, the family started looking into the reasons behind the disease. After running several blood tests, it became evident that Batoul had developed an immune disorder that caused alopecia, a condition in which hair is lost from some or all parts of the body whereby the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles.
Thankfully, advancements in modern medicine have led to the development of a treatment for alopecia, though its cost is often seen as somewhat high. However, this fact is insignificant if it means restoring Batoul’s hair and resolving her worries. The treatment lasts between five and six months, with results typically showing up a month after starting the medication. Batoul needs two packages each month, as prescribed by her doctor. The medicine will be supplied from an accredited pharmacy in Turkey.
