RASHED'S STORY

Rashed is 9 years old. He had not even reached his first birthday when he lost the most precious person in his life. In 2017, his mother passed away after suffering from an enlarged heart muscle. At the time, Rashed was only five months old, beginning life without the love and care that every child deserves.

As the months passed, his family began to notice that his development was not progressing as expected. After a series of medical evaluations, doctors diagnosed him with a severe neurological motor disability that affected both his physical and language development, making his journey through life challenging from a very young age.

According to the assessment conducted by the Steps Center for Early Intervention and Development, Rashed did not go through the babbling stage, which is a fundamental milestone in speech development. He was also unable to sit independently until he was two years old. Even today, he is unable to communicate his needs through speech or gestures, making it difficult for others to understand him and leaving him dependent on those around him for even the simplest daily tasks.

Despite these challenges, there is still hope. Specialists have recommended that Rashed undergo an intensive rehabilitation programme that includes daily speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, behavioural therapy, and special education sessions. These therapies play a vital role in developing his abilities, improving his motor and communication skills, and gradually helping him become more independent as he grows older.
