REEM’S STORY

I’m Reem, I’m 12 years old, and I have been living at SOS Children’s Village in Irbid for around three years. During this time, the village has become a true home for me, where I live with my brothers and sister and share our daily lives together just like any family. What I love most about our home is gathering around the dining table. I love those moments when we all sit together, talk, laugh, and share the details of our day. They make me feel surrounded by my family and by people who truly care about me.

The person closest to my heart is my mother at the village. She is always there for me, helping me with everything, caring for me, and making sure I am doing well. She has taught me many things, but the most important lessons I have learned from her are respect and helping others. Since I joined the village, I feel that my personality has changed a lot. I have become stronger and more confident, and I feel that my life has become happier. Taking part in different activities has also helped me become more cooperative and taught me how to respect and communicate with others.

I really love English, and I feel that it is one of the subjects I am best at. I always try to improve my academic performance, and thankfully, I achieved a high grade this year. I am proud that my performance continues to improve. After school, I enjoy spending time with my brothers and sister. We play together or watch television, and I also love playing basketball.

School has not always been easy for me. I sometimes struggled to understand parts of the curriculum and needed extra help. But the teachers at the village were always there to support me and help me understand my lessons, which enabled me to improve my grades. One of my happiest memories at the village was our trip to Aqaba. I had a wonderful time with all the children from the village. We laughed, enjoyed ourselves, and created beautiful memories that I will never forget.

When I think about my future, I have a big dream that I hope to achieve: I want to become a doctor. I love learning and developing myself, and I hope to continue my education until I reach university and make this dream come true. I hope the village will continue to support and encourage me so that I can continue my education and achieve my dreams. Having the village in my life has given me so much more than I could have imagined: love, care, safety, and the opportunity to grow and become a better version of myself every day.

My story is not simply the story of a girl living in a village. It is the story of a girl with a big dream who needs people to believe in her and help her reach it.

Be part of Reem’s journey and help her grow up believing that her dream of becoming a doctor can become a reality.
