Mohammad, 15, has a deformity in his left leg that hinders his mobility, forcing him to discontinue his studies
Name: Mohammad
Age: 15 years
Amount needed: 1,000 JOD
Support provided: surgery to correct the tibia bone in his left leg to walk normal again
AMOUNT NEEDED 1,000 JOD
An X-ray has shown that Mohammad has a congenital deformity in his lower left limb, with a curve and bowing in the tibia bone (shinbone). This condition causes him severe pain, preventing him from standing or moving on his own.
The amount needed will cover an urgent surgery to correct the tibia bone in Mohammad's left leg. The procedure will require a 24-hour hospital stay at the specialty hospital, allowing him to be discharged on the same day once he fully recovers from anesthesia.
MOHAMMAD’S STORY
Mohammad, 15 years old, had an accident six years ago while playing football with friends. He fell but didn’t complain of pain at the time, so it wasn’t taken seriously. Over the following years, symptoms appeared: his left leg, below the knee, started swelling, and he developed a limp. Gradually, Mohammad could no longer walk on his own, which deeply affected his mental health. As a result, he stopped going to school in the ninth grade and, due to frequent bullying, withdrew from playing with friends.
The surgery he needs is costly, and his father, who works at a small shop with a modest income, is unable to afford even a small portion of it due to monthly expenses and family obligations. His mother has made great sacrifices, working in house cleaning and selling some household items, managing to raise 1,200 JOD toward the 2,200 JOD required for the operation. However, she has exhausted all available options.
With your kindness and support, Mohammad can regain his ability to walk normally, return to school to complete ninth grade, and finally join his friends on the football field once again.
