Case description

AMOUNT NEEDED  JOD 600

Malek enrolled in a special education center in 2015, where the school year costs JOD 3,000. That includes tuition, transportation, lunch, occupational and speech therapy, and all school supplies, including stationery and any other tools that the child may need to do activities, as well as recreational external visits. With the help of generous donations that the private center receives, many children are able to continue their education, however, Malek needs JOD 600 to cover the remaining tuition fees for the year 2022/2023 to be able to continue onto his vocational training.

Malek’s STORY

Malek is a 16-year-old boy who lives with his family of seven. His father works as a tailor with a modest monthly income that barely covers the family’s basic expenses, including house rent, bills, and living expenses.

Malek suffers from mild intellectual disability and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and he is receiving the proper treatment for this disorder. He joined the center from the kindergarten section in 2015, then graduated to join the school section in 2017, and started in the first group until the fourth group. He is a fast learner and trains in various independent, academic, and social fields. Malek has mastered self-care skills with complete independence, many life activities, and social communication in an excellent way. He also excels at academic and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication). He receives training on vocational preparation skills, including working on a handloom, cutting various materials. One of the most important features of the student is his participation in the events and activities of the Sports Federation.

The center Malek is enrolled in consists of three sections: Kindergarten (ages 6-11 years), school (ages 12-17 years), followed by vocational training (ages 18-30 years). Malek is currently in the school section, which is divided into four groups, as he started in the first group and then moved to the second group, then third group, and he is now in the fourth and final group.
