RAMI’S STORY
Rami, 16 years old, always dreamed of living his teenage years like his peers: school, friends, activities, and the ambitions that grow with him. But his health took him down a different path. His struggle began when his father noticed that Rami was abnormally gaining weight and that signs of puberty had not appeared despite his age. It wasn’t just weight gain; it became a burden that kept him from going to school, and he eventually dropped out two years ago. He lost confidence in himself, withdrew from others, and felt as if he lived behind an invisible wall. All of this stemmed from a congenital condition: thyroid gland atrophy since birth.
Doctors ran MRI scans and detailed laboratory tests, revealing clear hormonal disorders and hypogonadism due to deficiencies in stimulating hormones, low growth hormone levels, and significant delayed puberty.
Rami needs hormonal treatment for at least six months to prevent further decline in his hormone levels. After completing this treatment period, he will need follow-up tests to assess how well his body responds.
