HEBA’S STORY
Heba, a widow and a mother of five, shares her heartbreaking story with you directly.
"I married at 16 and pursued my high school education while pregnant with my first child. Despite my efforts, I was not fortunate enough to succeed. I shifted my focus to becoming a homemaker, caring for my family and household. Over the years, I became a mother to three sons and two daughters. My husband was the sole provider until circumstances suddenly changed, and he passed away.
This sudden shock left me in a difficult situation, unsure how to provide for my five children, all under 18 years old, and manage their monthly expenses and obligations. However, God's tranquility comes with trials. I decided to work from home in cooking and healthy nutrition. Starting with a small investment and meager profits, I did my best to secure a decent life for my children.
Driven to improve my culinary skills, I discovered a one year and three-month diploma program in culinary arts at the National Academy, costing 1,400 JOD. Upon completion, I will receive an accredited certificate from higher education. I enrolled on 1/3/2023, paid 200 JOD, and completed two months of the program. Regrettably, I am no longer able to cover the monthly installments.
The diploma concludes on 31/3/2024, with three final months dedicated to practical training in a hotel or hospital. A payment of 1,200 JOD must be made before completion. The academy also offers job placement in hotels, which motivates me to pursue this opportunity to secure a better future for my children, enabling them to attend university when the time comes."
