ZAID’S STORY
Zaid, 31 years old, lives in one of the areas of Tafileh Governorate. He dreams of transforming his living conditions by developing a small income-generating project based on productivity and hard work. He lives with his family under modest circumstances but firmly believes that growing this project can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Zaid’s wife has experience in producing traditional homemade dairy products. However, the lack of proper equipment has prevented her from turning this skill into a stable source of income. Through a charitable organization, five sheep were provided to the family. Zaid takes care of grazing and tending to them daily, while his wife collects the milk and processes it at home.
To fully establish the project, Zaid needs a milk churn machine. This machine is used to churn milk, separating butter from buttermilk. The butter can then be turned into traditional ghee, while yogurt can be processed into dried jameed. This allows the family to diversify their dairy products, increase sales opportunities, and improve their income.
Zaid prefers to begin the project at the start of March, when spring begins and natural pastures become available, helping to increase both the quantity and quality of milk production. By July, the sheep are expected to reproduce, and within a year, the herd could grow to 10–15 sheep, ensuring the project’s sustainability and gradually improving the family’s income.
