AREEJ’S STORY

Areej, 38 years old, found herself facing life alone after separating from her husband. She went from sharing responsibilities to becoming the sole caregiver and provider for her three children. Her eldest is 13 years old, at a sensitive stage in life that requires guidance and support, while the youngest, 11, still seeks safety and reassurance in his mother’s embrace.

From the moment of separation, Areej has carried the full responsibility of raising and caring for her children, securing their basic needs such as food and clothing, as well as school requirements and daily expenses. Every decision, every burden, and every worry rests solely on her shoulders.

She tries to hide her exhaustion behind a reassuring smile, planting in her children’s hearts a sense of stability despite the challenges. She strives to provide them with a safe and loving environment so they do not feel deprived. Yet she lives under constant pressure, balancing rising living costs with her children’s growing needs.

Despite the hardships, Areej has not given in to despair. She believes that today’s struggles will build a better future for her children, and that every sacrifice she makes will one day turn into a success they are proud of. She is a mother fighting quietly, dreaming only of securing a stable and dignified life for her children, who are her entire world.
