ALAA’S STORY

Alaa, 36 yrs, is a mother of five where the eldest is 17, and the youngest is just two and a half. In a single moment, everything in her life changed. The family lived modestly, surviving on the small daily income her husband earned from collecting scrap materials. They didn’t have much, but they had stability,until April 2025.

That morning, Alaa’s husband left early, as he always did, carrying the burden of their livelihood on his back. He went to a high area in search of scrap metal and fell from a height of over ten meters. No one knew his whereabouts until the next day when he was found taking his final breaths. He didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. He passed away at the age of 44, leaving behind a shattered wife and five children who still remain in shock.

Since that day, Alaa has carried the entire burden alone,trying to be both the mother and the father. She hides her pain to give her children warmth and love, but the challenges she faces are far greater than anyone could endure. She has no income, no support, and no way to meet even their most basic daily needs,food, medicine, or clothing.

Today, Alaa stands alone against life’s hardships, doing all she can to provide her five children with the bare minimum of dignity and survival after losing their father. Every contribution,no matter how small,makes a big difference in bringing joy and comfort to these children’s lives.
