Laith’s second operation was postponed, because an urgent surgery was needed to remove a severe infection. All is well now, and he is on the path to recovery
The second operation is yet to be scheduled (roughly after six weeks, based on the doctor’s order). Yet, Laith had excruciating pain, and had to conduct an urgent surgery (description below). This cost 2,634 JOD and was taken from his balance of 7,000 JOD. Therefore, we may need to raise more funds to cover the second operation; yet, more info on this later (as we may receive a discount). Our main goal was to ensure Laith was treated for his infection.
The Orthopedic Surgeon requested a nuclear image of Laith’s leg to determine the severity of the infection. It was assumed that the infection had returned to its previous state, and on 2/4/2023 an operation was performed to remove the infection. Thankfully, the operation was successful, and the infection turned out to be less severe than it appeared in the nuclear image.
To determine the type of bacteria, a biopsy was performed and it was determined that one of the infections, the most serious one, had vanished. Yet, the second infection remained, therefore he will continue to take antibiotic injections until his second operation.
