The tears of joy on Remas' face will never be forgotten when she received her new insulin pump!

January 30, 2023 was the expected day for Remas to receive her new insulin pump! As before this, she was living a difficult period - suffering over and over again in the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) which also affected her studies. Yet, Remas is a fighter, staying strong and being patient.

What comes after patience is relief. The day of receiving the insulin pump was as if the beginning of Remas' birth and her life completely changed to the better. Remas informed us that she is now living a normal life while eating well and automatically taking her insulin dose (through the pump) which allows for her sugar levels to remain normal. Thankfully, Remas stopped waking up throughout the night to take the corrective insulin doses. Her mood is much better and is no longer anxious. She’s returned to school normally and isn’t taking any leaves.  She is still recovering from the symptoms caused by the rise in sugar from the previous period, yet she will eventually get better and fully return to normal.

Remas' mother told us that for the first time in nine months, she saw her daughter's blood glucose level stabilizing in the normal range.

"I am Remas, 13 years old, and since my pump stopped nine months ago, my health has unfortunately been declining because I have a problem with my body not responding to basal (the longer-acting) insulin. As long as I am without a pump, my diabetes remains high despite taking large amounts of insulin. That's why I was hospitalized a lot in the past and had complications. But Tadamon solved the problem when they adopted my story and raised funds.

I want to thank everyone who donated to me so that I could secure a new pump, because it was difficult for me to buy a new pump on my own. Thank you very much, because you gave me a chance to live a normal life. And a big thank you to Bank al Etihad for covering the remaining amount of the pump. There are no words to describe my joy!" ~ Remas
