Hearing aids for Mumen will transform his life, allowing him to hear, interact, and acquire language from an early age

On July 25, 2024, a hearing test was conducted for Mumen to determine his current hearing level and identify the most suitable type of hearing aid for him. It was found that the Interton MV290 type is the best fit for his condition, and thus, it was secured along with four packs of batteries to last him for six months.

Mumen was diagnosed with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss, where he can hear high-frequency sounds better than low-frequency ones. With the hearing aid, he will be able to hear better and restore the ability to speak and acquire language.

Moving forward, Mumen will need to be enrolled in a center to begin auditory rehabilitation sessions whereby he will learn to speak and acquire age-appropriate vocabulary. In the coming months, we will assess how well Mumen benefits and responds to the hearing aids.
