ZAINAB’S STORY
Zainab, 46 years old, lives with her five children in Sil Al-Hasa (Al-Burbaita), a remote area 25 km from Tafila, classified as one of the poorest regions in the country due to a lack of basic necessities. She has been raising her children alone since their father passed away eight years ago, after years of kidney dialysis treatment.
Zainab and her children live in a home provided by a royal grant in recognition of her eldest son's academic excellence, which brought about a significant improvement in their living conditions. Having a proper house is far safer and warmer than the tent they once lived in.
When a Community Contributor visited Zainab's home, her dignity initially prevented her from asking for help with items she could not afford. However, after the Community Contributor observed the lack of essentials and reassured her, Zainab felt more comfortable and shared other needs as well.
